Mirroring Me

Have you ever felt...not like yourself? I don't mean feeling weird. Not an "out-of-body experience" either.

It's like I am disconnected from the fleshly me...

...like my heart/soul/mind doesn't fit together with the image in the mirror.

And it just makes me think. And wonder.

And then I generally become confused :)

Perspective changes everything. Sometimes we find it so hard to move forward that we focus on our feet, and what we're stepping on (even, occasionally, we get caught up in the color, shape and size of our shoes...:P). But where we should really be looking is Christ's face! What's ahead - where are we going? What is our "life goal"?

Colossians 2:20-22: "Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—“Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

Colossians 3:1-3: "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

We are also to divert our focus from things that are sinful and corrupt:

Philippians 4:8-9: "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you."

So here's to bringing "every thought captive to Christ" and thinking on "things above." That's this week's mission :) :)
